THE ZENITH KEEPERS

The Zenith Keepers are Meridian Incorporated’s visible, public-facing security force and are the bulwark protectors of shadowed secrets and company interests. President Vincent Sloane saw a need for these defenders in the harsh aftermath of the Great Schism War. After centuries of war and conflict on Elysium, the planet’s once vibrant crystals dimmed and were lost, and with them, the power source for humanity’s greatest defenders, the Praetors, faded once again into myth. With the scarcity of charged crystals and the dwindling pool of Praetor pilots who could wield the suits, an alternative, although less armored and mobile, force became a must. In Eidolon, Meridian Incorporated led by Vincent Sloane and Dr. Vyran Bax would create one such faction of private defenders exclusively loyal to Meridian.

These individuals, simply known as Keepers, are perhaps more recognized all throughout Helios City’s underworld by their whispered term of “Shades.” At times, they are meant to be a cohesive, often intimidating, display of strength while, at other times, their directives are executed while in agile shadow. Zenith Keeper agents are most commonly seen patrolling throughout the Meridian Towers, though they have been noticed more recently guarding high value persons of the company while out in public.

When a Keeper reports for duty, they traverse through one of many hidden passageways throughout Meridian Towers and enter a private barracks where civilian clothing or company uniform is exchanged for the famed armor of the illusive Zenith Keeper order. There are zero means of differentiating one agent from another while inside the armor or even identifying someone as a Zenith Keeper when relieved of duty, aside from speculation perhaps due to select Meridian employees exhibiting physical scars, or in some special cases visible technology surfacing on top of the skin resulting from a presumed special implant. It is reported that Keepers have this special implant embedded into their spine to track vitals and monitor a wide array of minor surgical enhancements to their biological platform through a symbiosis with the organic nervous system while equipped with their armor. Only a Zenith Keeper can identify another Keeper in the “wild” because of their augmented tech automatically syncing, and even then, they are not authorized to reveal themselves or to even interact with one another unless expressly approved by Meridian’s Harmonic Control.

A small exception to this secretive homogenous organization are special agents within the Zenith Keepers called Seraphs. A Seraph is a special agent who is authorized to operate out in the open, however their official status as a Seraph Agent is classified to allow for freer discretion when protecting and preserving the harmony of Meridian Incorporated and the company’s interests. Sometimes these Seraph Agents or a contingent of Zenith Keepers are loaned out and act in coordination with official Council of Elysium authority.
