THE ANTHEA

Generations of Elysians, through many forms of tradition and ritual, have passed on both written and oral accounts encircling a phenomenon known as the Anthea, which was said to be active during the Cyrillian Era thousands of solar cycles ago.
Perhaps as an explanation to these widespread historical philosophies and traditional texts, evidence has been found to exist that Elysium had what can be called a levrological cycle. Though today it has been considered either dormant or undetectable. This levrological cycle could refer to a theoretical symbiosis of the crystalline structure of the planet’s composition with light emitted from the system’s sun, coupled with light reflected upon the planet from the larger of the two moons orbiting Elysium, Kyros. Kyros has had an emerald corona resulting from its own crystalline structure, shading Elysian nights with a green aura seasonally during solar cycles surrounding the autumnal equinox.
An Elysian levrological cycle has been the most viable explanation for the existence of rare crystals which hold an electromagnetic field with active, harvestable power. Scientists have discovered wildlife and minerals containing evidence of biological manipulation via electromagnetic or voltaic means. It has been theorized that when the levrological cycle was perhaps active on Elysium, crystals growing naturally from the planet’s core and all throughout its crust toward the surface were energized, which then affected the surrounding biome. The manufacture of a metal that could far exceed the strength and malleability properties of standard materials today would theoretically be possible. This would perhaps provide an explanation to the unusual composition of recovered or preserved Praetor armor in this modern era.
This ancient Cyrillian Aetas Lucis was said to be both luminous and physical, allowing the ancient Praetorate of old to arm Praetors with a power source yielded from the crystals themselves and, enhanced by the physical properties of a manufactured crystalline metal, would allow Praetors to wield seemingly fantastical power and abilities only described in myth and children’s stories.
Aetas Lucis and the fantastical descriptions of an Elysian Anthea has enthralled generations of children and families, enriching the culture and history of this magnificent planet. Just as Elysians peer upward beyond the stars from the jeweled monolith of the Midway Space Station, we seek our past planet-side that we may reveal a tangible and lasting future, together.

The transcription of the Ancient Anthea by Historian Lumir Kellmore in the Solar Cycle of 3184 T.N., while accurate for his time, no longer carries the weight of our present moment. We live in a realm of chaos and tranquility now, of a spectacle where we find myth perhaps transcending more and more toward our tangible reality rather than a speckled mist of diegesis and legend.
I admittedly struggle with the reconciliation of Kvido’s scientific tenets under which I was raised and the swath of mythos that I cannot now deny the legitimacy of. We live in an era of a rainbow at night. Is this a crisis of faith? I do not know. As a scientist, can I? As a Vexillar, I cannot.
Though the data, I must profess, is accurate. The Talos Protocol depends upon it and shall succeed far beyond its estimations because of it.
Will my addendum one day be followed by yet another after a new calamitous revelation? Part of me hopes things go back to how they were, for President Vincent Sloane and I fear the trajectory toward peace is wilting and the potential for kinetic catastrophe increases by the solar cycle.
